Snowshoe, West Virginia

Once you get there, it's great!

I learned to ski here and have returned twice after that. Good skiing when the conditions are right. Definitely stay at the top of the mountain, and bring plenty of provisions. :)

Washington, D.C., District of Columbia

I lived here for six months--

And the only bad parts were (1) high cost of living and (2) tourists. But the cost of living is totally worth it, and it’s really kind of enlightening to see so many people interested in their country’s background enough to devote a summer getaway to it. So many free museums— especially art museums— and great restaurants! A must-do: the Mall on the Fourth of July!
