Springfield, Virginia

Lived here most of my life

I agree with the other person, those pictures posted are of places I’ve never seen and I’ve lived here since I was 5. I will try to post some better ones. Springfield is alright there’s a lot to do, lots of convenient places nearby and some people take it for granted. It’s a suburb of DC. I like Springfield but there’s no way I can afford to live here once I finish college, I’ll be moving someplace else.

Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant, Vienna

I could eat there every day!

I love this place. I’ve been there at least 20 times, and I’ve tried several dishes, but my favorite is the General Tso’s Surprise. It’s so delicious, sweet and a little spicy, comes with brown rice on the side, it’s just perfect. I would try all their food but every time I go I have to get the General Tso’s! My mouth waters just thinking about it!

If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, beware because they are usually packed. Once you get a table and order though, the food comes very fast. During slower afternoons, we’ve gotten our food in about 5-10 minutes of ordering. When it’s a busy night it might take 15-20 minutes. It’s a small restaurant, and the parking lot is equally small. BUT, they are opening another Sunflower in Falls Church, and I can’t wait to go there! The one negative thing about Sunflower is the fact that the place is so small – the tables are so close to each other, and when it’s busy you can’t have a private conversation at all because you are sitting right next to a stranger. The decor is cute though, with the whole sunflower motif.

Tip: If you have a question about something, ask one of the female servers, they speak better english.

There are no peanuts in General Tso’s, by the way.

What to try:

Jicama, Avocado, and Orange Salad

Fried “Chicken” appetizer

Spring Rolls appetizer

General Tso’s Surprise

Vegetable Fried Rice

Veggie Steak Sandwich

Organic Pumpkin Tofu Pie

Organic Blueberry Lemon Cake

Keep in mind the desserts are more like healthy desserts and do not contain sugar, dairy, or eggs so if you aren’t used to it, you may not like it.

The prices are between $7-$12 for entrees.

I would highly recommend Sunflower to anyone in the Northern VA-DC Metro area :)
