Washington, D.C.
Worth visiting!
A review of this place: A total review - D.C. has something for everyone
If you enjoy American History or are a patriotic U.S. citizen then I certainly recommend this place. Seeing the monuments in person is a memorable experience. There are plenty of great Smithsonian Museums in American History, Art, Natural History, Etc. There is also an international spy museum (the same one in NY) The Library of Congress is open to all citizens and the National Arcives have some of our most politically significant documents on file. If you have ever served in the military then the memorials certainly are important. Arlington National Cemetery will certainly stir your spirits, especially the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
If you are not as into American History, not as patriotic or not a prior servicemember, D.C. still has things for you. Adams Morgan, Du Pont Circle and Georgetown are safe and fun places to hang out, shop and eat. The variety of museums can stir almost anyone’s interests. There are plent of beautiful and scenic parks for recreation. The universities (Geogretown, Catholic University, American University, etc.) are also interesting. There is a particularly beautiful basillica (the national shrine) at Catholic Univ. that any Christian would find a breathtaking sight to visit.
D.C. Has something for everyone and the metrorail is great. Just don’t get lost in the wrong neighborhoods. The capitol district though is extremely secure. You can’t ignore the fact that Congress and the White House happen to be there!
