watch out for people pretending to put mustard on your shoulder. don’t be afraid to explore areas outside of miraflores and surco — at least go to barranco. it is my favorite area. but the poorer areas are fascinating and vibrant…just make sure to take nothing of value. and i would only suggest going someplace like el agustino if you’re staying in lima for a while and if you have a friend to take you.
