I was lucky enough to visit Berlin for the 2st of June which is when the Fete de la Musique is held. Nothing could be better than wandering the streets, beer in hand, on a warm summer’s night while musicians play for free on every street corner. I hope I can snag a job there one day.

I’m not really the graveyard type but I do quite like this place. The tranquility and sense of age is offset by the view of the Tennent’s brewery and the occasional group of lads getting loudly pissed.

If the weather is good, try the gentle walk up Ben Lomond for some really beautiful views.

Plus the staff are friendly, and there’s never any pressure to leave. The coffee is good as well.

and I’m going to go home eventually

well at least the bits I went too up North. Lots of pivo and plenty of nema na cemu await. Get in there.

I’ve got Burnley FC in the blood and have thus made a few visits there. It’s a lot less miserable than people always tell me

... and cheap after a week in Paris. The cocktail of North African and Mediterranean culture was delicious and there was some really great street art there.

Worth it for the guy surfing in the Sturm if nothing else

Where else can you be guaranteed to find someone you know vaguely (but well enough) to talk rubbish to at 4:30 AM every Sunday morning?
