Canmore, Alberta
Thriving town at the gate of Banff National Park
Canmore is where we stay when we go to Banff. It’s a fast growing, thriving town with beautiful mountains. I like that their are walking and biking paths everywhere.
I recommend a farily easy hike up to the Grassi Lakes (photo). It’s probably 90 minutes total, but very worth it. You’ll find two pristine emerald colored lakes.
Our favorite place to eat lunch is Harvest. Excellent quiche, sandwiches, soup etc. It’s on 10th street.
From Canmore, it’s a 5-10 minute drive to the gates of Banff National Park.
