Chicago, Cook County

Untitled

Our family went to Chicago a few years back. We stayed with family for about a week in the city and it was fall then so it was very cold but we actually loved the weather (having lived in a tropical country all our lives!). I love walking along Michigan Avenue. I also love the museum — it was my first time to visit a world-class museum and I remember being so awed at seeing a Van Gogh painting for the first time. The view of the city at night from the top of the John Hancock building is also awesome!

London, England

Untitled

My husband and I stayed in London for about 3 weeks. I didn’t like it at first — some parts of the city are dirty, but it sort of grew on me. I love walking around London neigborhoods — the Victorian apartments, the parks. We did the tourist bit and went to all the “must-see places” (Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Tower, Kenwood House, etc!) and did all the “must-do” stuff (rode the London Eye, watched a musical, shopped at Portobello, took the Underground, ate fish and chips, went to a pub, window-shopped at Harrods, etc!) but I have to say, there’s nothing like staying in the city for weeks to soak up the atmosphere and the culture. We’ll definitely go back!

Paris, Ile de France

Untitled

I was in Paris for just a weekend and it was a total marathon – I walked the length of Champs Elysee, saw the Eiffel Tower, went to the Louvre, heard mass at the Sacre Couer, saw the Notre Dame, and even went to Versailles! It’s such a romantic city — my only regret is that I went there alone. Have to go back someday with my hubby!
