Singapore

(in Asia)
May be going here soon

It looks like I’ll get to teach a class in Singapore in August. I hope so. What I’ve read makes it sound like a wonderful place to visit.

Squished Penny Museum

Worth visiting!

A smashing good time!!!

What fun I had visiting the Squished Penny Museum. Pete and Christina who run the museum are such gracious hosts. The collection is nicely arranged and they love to talk about all things related to elongated coins.

Worth visiting!

Fond memories

Had a great time on a US Air Force TDY (temporary duty) doing air-to-ground missile testing. The hospitality of our hosts was superb.

I’ll never forget seeing the Northern Lights.

Vancouver

Worth visiting!

Going back soon

This time I’ll go on the Harley.

San Diego

Worth visiting!

The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Diego

A little plaigiarism of Samuel Clemens line about San Francisco came to mind recalling San Diego. I remember the wind barriers at the outdoor dining decks at the Hotel Del Coronado to cut the bone chilling breeze. I’d probably be better able to enjoy now that I’ve acclimated to cooler weather.

The hotel it a beautiful spot. The harbor tour was nice until the Navy security folks met the group at the dock. For some reason they didn’t take kindly to the M80’s being tossed off the back of the tour boat in close proximity to their submarines. Geeesh! Some people sure are sensitive. :)

Cape Girardeau

Cicada's

I had just married and my Oregon native wife was with me as we traveled cross country on our way to Alabama. She came running into the hotel room to tell me there was something wrong with the electrical lines near the moving truck and I should move it.

The “something” ended up being the buzzing song of the Cicadas.

She learned to enjoy them after we lived for a few years in various southern states.

Taking my grandson to his first ballgame

We plan to ride the Amtrac. This is my first big trip with him. He’s 7 years old.
