Sherman

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: A Nice Place to Live

I went to school at Austin College. I hated Sherman at the time, but now that I’m an adult I believe that I’d love to live there. It’s a nice quiet town—a good place to raise a family.

And it has Cellarman’s, the finest pub in the known Universe.

Wonderful People!

The people of Arras were wonderful and friendly. I remember two old ladies who spoke even less English than I speak French spending half an hour trying to help me find an open bank. Neat little town.

Paris

Not worth visiting!

A review of this place: Interesting Sites, but Worthless Place

There are some neat things to see & museums to visit, but Paris isn’t worth visiting. It’s the filthiest city I’ve ever been in (dog dirt covered the streets); the people are rude; and crime is rampant (our bus was robbed, and a woman’s purse was stolen through a window in a bar I was at). The rest of France was very nice indeed, but Paris was not at all pleasant.

My First Lambic

I’d my first lambic beers here, while at the Hotel Munchenhof. They were just the BelleVue sweet lambics, but I thought them just grand.

London

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

Back in college I went on a month-long study of the Great War; the first six days were spent in London, then we went on to the Continent to visit battlefields & museums there.

London was an absolute blast—the greatest city in the world! Beautiful girls, great food, excellent beer, lovely architecture, pleasant weather (and this was in December & January!), a top-notch public transport system &c. The only reason I don’t live there is that I’d never want to live under England’s laws.
