Having been to Bogota a few times now (for 2 months overall) I can say that the stereotypical view of Colombia is totally wrong. When I was walking around in the evenings there were parks with children juggling and playing games, and friendly people all around. Taxis are safe and Yellow cabs are a lot cheaper than the white cabs usually parked outside hotels.

For food and drink, I would recommend the steaks and a chicken restaurant called Los Pollitos. Yuka fries are particularly nice and fresh fruit drinks are available everywhere, ‘Lulo con Leche’ is particularly nice (Lulo is a fruit unique to Colombia).

Look carefully at the name of the airport you’re flying to. Ryanair fly to Sandefjord, which is 10km from the nearest railway station and then another 100km from Oslo. The Ryanair site said Oslo as the destination, but didn’t indicate that it wasn’t central Oslo.

Be sure that when you go here it’s a clear day. We unfortunately picked a cloudy day, so the view wasn’t as spectacular as it could have been, but it was still very nice.

Whatever you do, try the ice cream… it’s amazingly creamy, but firm, and won’t just melt in 10 seconds like most. You can even choose from a few dips, from nuts and hundreds & thousands, to the chocolate dip, which makes the icecream like a chocice, it’s delicious!

If you can avoid the intro and just go on the ride then it’s ok… Sitting through the introduction to Norway didn’t give me a good impression of the country.

I want to go to the actual Norway, but the Epcot Norway wasn’t great.

A fantasic place to do AFF (skydiving), an amazing view from 14000ft!

A nice little town with a few nice pubs, the Golden Lion, The Nelson’s Head and the Oliver Cromwell by the river. The other pubs aren’t bad, but they’re the better ones IMHO.

The clubs in St Ives aren’t really worth going to though, the Ice Club is very small, and The Music Box (AKA The Dirt Box) is on two floors, but pretty dark and dingy (the better of the two though).
