Vernon, Okanagan

Untitled

We went up there for the 2005 BC Day long weekend and ended up seeing more than we’d planned. The plan was to see the murals in downtown Vernon, along with all the foresty mountain stuff.

We hit Vernon, Falkland, Salmon Arm, Armstrong, Kamloops, Chase… just to name a few. All worth visiting and all accessable from Vernon if you have a car and can spare a day or two. There are a lot of lakes to see, something like 17 murals, ghost tours (we didn’t get to do that this trip), hidden trails and camping grounds and A LOT of cows. And the people are very friendly and helpful so long as you don’t act like a total ass.

I hope to go back one winter to get the other side of the area, I hear it’s pretty awesome when there’s snow :)
