I live here
In Jersey City…food’s cheaper than New York. That’s about it :)

Got to see the town, visit an old plantation…the way they divided the land was fascinating – really long, thin strips that gave everyone access to the river.

There’s a small campground (can’t remember the name) on the Schoodic peninsula. It’s actually a nature reserve, and the only reason we found it was because we drove by. You have to hike in about a 1/4 mile from your vehicle, but you get a campsite that’s very secluded and is about 15 feet from the ocean. It was the highlight of the trip, absolutely unbelievable.

Just spent three days there, and I was absolutely blown away. As a Colorado boy, I didn’t think that I could find stretches of country that compared. But driving down Vermont 100, I was forced to concede that Colorado has some stiff competition. And that competition has lots of maple syrup.

After driving 1200 miles in the two days prior, stretches which were interrupted only by sleeping or sitting in meetings, it was time to take a well-deserved break. We pulled into Fort Worth, headed downtown and I proceeded to have one of the best steaks of my life. Great glass of Cabernet as well (did you know they have wineries in Texas? Me either.)

Went to San Francisco for a weekend, had an absolute blast. Stayed at the Clift hotel which is way nicer than anyone deserves. Had an amazing dinner (can’t recall the place) and a fabulous bottle of wine, went to the Bubble Lounge for a bit….great night all around.
Did the tourist thing as well, saw Chinatown, the bridge, etc. But for all of San Francisco’s beauty, I was too enamored with my company to notice much.

Aside from one spectacular weekend in San Francisco, I hadn’t had the chance to see much of California until a few weeks ago. Was able to drive from Portland to Los Angeles, and saw the variety that makes California so popular. Wasn’t such a huge fan of the desert climate, and way too many people like pink for their houses. But Mount Shasta is spectacular, Northern California in general is great, and I’m sure the beach in L.A. is a great time. I’d definitely make another trip.

I love the fact that it’s an hour away from the mountain and an hour away from the ocean. I love the air, I love the trees, I love the grass. I love the people – everyone seems to be so friendly.
I’d move here in a heartbeat.

We were down there on business, and spent the evening hanging out with a friend of a friend. Great time – good food, friendly peoople. We had a flight the next morning at 7, so we said “let’s stay up all night!” Stupid, stupid decision.
I’d like to spend more time down here – it seems like a really cool place.

3 years ago the guys and I went to Vegas to celebrate Benny’s 21st. While we were there, Ben met a fantastic girl and they hit it off right away. I lost a lot of money.
2 years later, they got married. For his bachelor’s party, we went to Vegas. I met a fantastic girl, and hit it off right away (she was at her sister’s bacholorette party, as it happened.) I lost a lot of money.
August will be 1 year with the girl. Maybe I should celebrate….any ideas where to go?
