I passed through here about 18 years ago at the tail end of a crazy journey to Mexico and the Sea of Cortez. I can laugh about it now, but at the time it was horrible. You know, I used to get way outside of my comfort zone a lot more often. For better or worse.

I still want to go here! Just clearing up space on my list by purging redundancy.

I gots to free up room on my list – putting on hold the more outlying destinations. Sorry, Ecuador. Someday

Too much drinky-doo y Smokey-poo. Missed Pearl Jam, JAMC and most of Soundgarden. A lifetime ago. Err, I mean a long time ago.

We drove around for hours, asked a girl at mcdonalds, found the cemetary and wandered. When we found the grave we sat in silence. Prayer and meditation. Contemplating human being. Walking back to the car, thanking him. Turn on the car, I just want to sit. The radio’s on turn it off- WAIT! Stevie Ray’s playing Little Wing… the last few measures. Thank you. No words. Sublime.

Someday I will go. Until then I will remain sastisfied with the myriad of other rallies, rides and road trips made available to me.

I just know a few folks who seem to go here annually. Not people who would fit whatever stereotype I might have about people who would go to burning man. I plan to go some year. It just sounds like something worth experiencing.

It’s in a beautiful location. My camera broke, so I didn’t take any pictures today. There was a couple flying a kite there and 3 people sitting on part of the monument. Or fridgeument. Or applianceument. Amazing clouds today. Everything’s green and the sky is rich in blues, whites and greys. Really a stellar day.

I set out for here about 6 years ago, but due to a friend’s firearms, we had to re-route our journey.

Simulated people! I can’t wait. I just have a sense I would enjoy myself. A guilty pleasure.
