The Eye is cheap, and the lines move quite quickly, so don’t be put off. Be sure to check on the time of sunset and get tickets for about 15 minutes prior if possible. It’s fun identifying all the landmarks from the air.

From Costa Rica, the Pan American Highway passes by Lake Nicaragua. This is a view from the side of the road.

We stayed on the Bay of Papgallo near Playa Ocotol. It was heavenly. This was one of the many beautiful views from our one-week rental.

I took a boat tour of Loch Lomond as part of a Grayline tour from Edinburgh that also included Glasgow, the Trossachs and Sterling Castle. It was an excellent all-day tour that really introduced the essence of lower Scotland. Hamish the Hairy Coo alone was worth the trip! I would not say that a trip to Loch Lomond alone was worth the effort, but there’s plenty around to make a day.

I visted Windsor Castle with the Original London Walks which offers a day-tour from London covering Windsor and nearby Eton. A day is a perfect amount of time to visit Windsor. It was a wonderful and inexpensive day trip. My 11-year old neice was with me and she loved it too.
