The history is amazing, and the people very kind. Whether people-watching at a cafe, hanging out watching a football game at a pub, or learning about the historical capital of Norway by visiting Munkholmen, Nidaros or perhaps the Ringve museum of music, there’s plenty to do and see.

I’ve been in late summer, and hope to visit again during the winter.

Atkinson, NH, at least the way I remember it, is a small town on the border of Mass. I have very fond memories of climbing huge (for a kid at least) evergreen trees in the summer and cross-country skiing to my neighbor’s house in the winter.

When I lived there, Atkinson had a general store and a post office. If you wanted more shopping choices, you’d drive to nearby towns such as Plastow or Haverhill. I think the town has grown since then.

Atkinson is by no means a vacation spot, but a wonderful place to bring up a family. I really miss it.
