We went here for the last two days of our honeymoon, staying in the Tally Ho Inn. Great place, so-so ocean view, huge room with a plasma HDTV. The place reminded me a bit of the MIchigan Renaissance Festival in Holly, MI: Narrow, fragrant streets with tons of greenery and foot traffic. Carmel has much less in the way of goofy fantasy costumes, much more in the way of designer clothing and cruddy art. Great food and we loved the beach

I lived here in Ann Arbor for about 3 years (if memory serves), and I loved it. I kept meaning to guilt trip myself into going back to school at U of M, but never quite did it.

One thing I didn’t like about Ann Arbor, though, is that anything I wanted that Ann Arbor didn’t have turned into at least a 30-45 minute drive. Unfortunately, that included 90% of my friends.

I’ve lived here for almost 4 years, and had been visiting and hanging out around Royal Oak for much longer. I like it a lot. If you’re going to be in and around the Detroit area, Royal Oak is close by and nicely central to most of the more interesting surrounding suburbs.
