Las Vegas, Nevada

Untitled

I’m not into gambling, and the cigarette smoke that pervades Vegas is really disgusting. Still, it’s worth visiting, if nothing else to marvel at the excess and expensive tackiness. Vegas is like a city designed by Walt Disney’s evil twin.

There is great food there now, and also great shopping. Some of the shows are fun, too. And the people-watching is really wonderful

San Francisco, San Francisco Peninsula

Untitled

San Francisco is a wonderful city, full of beautiful views and cute neighborhoods. Steep hills aside, it’s a great walking city, and quite compact. If you go, just make sure to get away from Fisherman’s Wharf (which is mostly a big tourist trap) and the cable cars, and see what this city really has to offer.
