Long stretch of uninhabited beach at the south end of the island. 25 years ago someone posted a mail box and some journals between some sand dunes. people go there to sit and write and experience God. the journals are left behind for others to write and read. someone collects them when they are full. blank ones are left behind for the tradition to continue. this has been going on for over 25 years. search “kindred spirit” and “sunset beach” on a search engine. must visit if you are in the area. the beach does not have much commercial activity. mostly a bunch of vacation cottages. if you like commercial, north myrtle beach and myrtle beach sc are 30 and 45 minutes away.

One of the most beautiful places i have ever visited. must see if you are in the area.

Great zoo. animals have lots of room, but you can still get good views. much more humane looking than most zoos.

had a decent collection of animals for a small zoo, but the pens were small chain link pens. not very humane.

i went to louis armstrong’s house in queens. it’s near shea stadium, the us tennis center and one of the airports, tho i forget which one. louis’ house is worth visit if you are in the area.

if you’re not in the area and you are a louis fan, it’s worth the visit anyway.

i fell in love with it. nyc is the greatest.
