Middle-earth, Arda

Well, “visiting” by reading the books is definitely recommended as it’s one of the most beautiful fictional places to go imho. Get going by reading “The Hobbit”, and soon you will be half way through the LOTR trilogy.

Colosseum Kino, Frogner

Oslos best cinema

Colosseum is a magnificent movie theatre, best in Oslo, and I would dare to say it ranks highly among international theatres. The seats are comfortable, the sound (when not too loud) is excellent, and the screen is one of the best I have ever seen in a theatre. Norwegian cinema tickets are pretty pricey though, so expect to pay $15 or more..

Weekend Market, Bangkok

Bangkoks best market

JJ Market / “Chatukcha market” / “The weekend market”, a dear thing has many names obviously and this market is definitely something.

This market has something for everyone, with sections for clothes, food, livestock, pets, arts&crafts, shoes, electronics etc. etc. My favourite items here must be the high quality thai-made clothing, often with prints and logos you cannot get anywhere else (except flea markets in India where they charge a premium because of “extra good thailand quality”).

As long as you have a healthy attitude to bargaining you cannot go much wrong. My advice would be to make up your mind as to a price you are willing to give before talking to the vendor. Then offer him/her a price somewhat below that. If your “limit” is 500 baht, then maybe offer 300 as a starting price, and work your way till you reach an agreement.

Great place to go for shopping :)
