except for the “whales in jails” bit, that kind of sucks.

Even though it was Robbie Burns day yesterday, we went to Belgian/Moroccan restaurant Chambar for Erin’s birthday. I am in love with this place; the red walls and the exposed brick and the gorgeous wood tables and the bartender and the fresh muddled fruit in the cocktails and really every little bit of it is just awesome.

I had “Dr. Gonzo’s Kiwi Debauchery” which gets best cocktail name I’ve had in a while, best reference, and the drink was pretty damn good too. We had a bottle of red wine with dinner – “Procrastinator” from the “Wit’s End” vineyard, (second prize for best name) and for food I had a prawn appy, a lamb main plate and a waffle for dessert.

Verdict: Super YUM.

next time I am going to spend a week in there.

this is one of my favorite places in the whole world. but go early, both because it is beautiful in the mist, and because the tourists are nasty in the afternoon.

where the train station looks like an opera house, and the opera house looks like a train station….and the women wear furs to both.
