Daytona Beach

The last time I went to this place

I was in Daytona in June for a conference and while it was HOT! There was a lot to do in the area of our hotel. The Ocean Walk Village was excellent for all kinds of entertainment.

Touring

I went to Louisville for a conference but had an excellent time at Churchill Downs. The tours are definitely worth it, especially the one that goes “behind the scenes” and allows you to visit the horses.

Biloxi

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I visited Biloxi often as I grew up in Mobile and travelled the short distance for the casinos and especially the food and shows. I loved the Beau Rivage when it first opened. Since then I’ve brought friends from Illinois to visit Treasure Bay. They were really into pirates so it was a perfect fit. We had a great time and were incredibly sad when the Hurricane moved in and did so much damage. Our visit had been only a couple of months before. This is definitely a place I would return as it is so close to home and has so many memories for me.

New Orleans

Worth visiting!

Laissez Bon Temps Roulet!

I grew up about 2 hours from New Orleans so I’ve visited many times from graduation parties to bachelorette parties, weekend getaways and concerts. It’s an awesome town if you give it a chance. It’s not all about tits and beads and getting drunk. There’s history in the city and if you listen closely enough you can hear it resonate. If you’re up for a ghost and vampire tour, be sure to do your research. Lord Chaz is the best storyteller around and his tour is a lot of fun.

The Audobon Zoo is wonderful as is the Aquarium. There’s a ton of little cafes and shops to get lost in. Don’t do the city a disservice by only soaking up alcohol. Take some time to listen to jazz, to the ghosts, to the beat and heart of the South.

Worth visiting!

living outside of myself

I lived in England for 9 months, Paris for 3 months. The experience was amazing and something I wouldn’t trade for anything. I lived in Hertfordshire, an easy train ride to London where I visited frequently. I loved the people, the accents, the colors, the landscape. It was an amazing time in my life.

A really interesting part of England for me was Bath. It was beautiful architecturally and it was just a really different place.
