University Of Rhode Island, Kingston

Great Experience

I went here for four years, and it was exactly what I always imagined college to be like. The four years I spent here were some of the best years of my life. The campus itself is beautiful, and has lots of impressive, historic buildings. The school also has a pretty large Greek system, which makes for a pretty good social scene. The professors are for the most part, good. The school has a very good internship program, and I was able to get a job with the company I interned for as soon as I graduated. Some downsides were that I did have some trouble getting classes I needed, because it is a public university and they don’t guarantee seats in any class, regardless of whether or not you need it to graduate. Also, if you don’t do well in large classes, this probably isn’t the place for you, since most of the gen-eds are in large lecture halls with over a hundred students. The campus itself makes for a great enviroment to meet new people, as most freshmen and sophomores live on campus. Most of the dorms are newly renovated, and there are also brand new apartments and dining halls. Parking for commuters kind of sucks. The campus is also very close to the beach, and most juniors and seniors rent houses right by the beach. There are also numerous fun bars and restuarants nearby. Overall, this college gave me a great education, and a fun-filled four years.

Paragon, College Hill

Pretty Good

This place is pretty good. I had always been hesitant to go there, because it appears very fancy and a little too trendy for my style. But a boy took me there on a date a couple months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. The prices are very reasonable, and they have a wide selection of food (everything from chicken sandwiches and burgers to pasta dishes and steaks). The only downsides were that the place kind of had a “stuffy” atmosphere, and the waitresses were kind of rude.

Antonio's Pizza, College Hill

I like it

I really like Antonio’s. It’s certaintly not the best place to go for an intense dinner date, but it’s perfect a perfect place for grabbing a quick bite while out and about. I like that they have a wide variety of pizza toppings. Their spinach and ricotta pizza is amazing. The slices are also pretty big which is good since you buy them by the slice. It’s also a great place for people watching since they have a counter along a large glass window facing Thayer St.

Good times!
