Mackinac Island is the most peaceful place I’ve ever been to! No cars! It feels old-fashioned, but has all the modern ammenities you could want. The food is excellent on the island, as well as the fudge. The shopping is also a lot of fun. Try to stay at the Grand Hotel overnight! When I went to sleep at night all I heard was the lapping of the waves from Lake Michigan, the sounds of birds, and the clop-clopping of horses hooves every once in awhile. This island is magical!
