I went on a trip to Southern Africa when I was 7. At Etosha, I saw lions and elephant dung but no elephants. I wore my Etosha t-shirt for years after.

I grew up in Perth. I spent a few vacations as a youth on Rottnest Island. I had fond memories of the island. When I was 10, I left Australia to go to the United States. Fourteen years later, I went back to Australia with my girlfriend at the time. We took a trip out to Rottnest. We took a bike ride around the island. Somewhere on a jetty, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes. She was surprised. I had been hiding the ring in my bag since leaving the United States (two weeks before).

This is the first place I lived in the states. It is a very nice suburb with good schools.

. . . and you like the ocean, I would highly recommend doing this. If you want to get from A to B, skip it.

I grew up here. This is the best place on earth. The weather is warm and dry with blue skies. The people are friendly. The beaches are beautiful. There are good outdoor activities and night clubs. The city is very clean. It is not overpopulated.
