The Westin St. John Resort And Villas

A tip I have about this place

IMO, the best room here isn’t the closest to the beach. An ocean view room back up the hill is closer to the entrance (where you’ll walk to get taxis to town) and has a better view of Great Cruz Bay and nearby Caribbean islands. (Take a look at the view from our room and other shots of the Westin.)

Not worth visiting!

Touristy shopping center

At least around the harbor, this seemed to be just a t-shirt tourist shop for cruisers.

Cody

Lots of outdoors stuff

Cody lies just outside of Yellowstone National Park, making it a good base of operation if you can’t get in-park lodging.

Rehoboth Beach

Worth visiting!

It's a boardwalk beach.

Truth be told, we probably wouldn’t go back to Rehoboth. Turns out we like some separation between the water and commercial hustle/bustle (think Wrightsville Beach, NC) But if you like your sunbathing with a boardwalk backdrop, it might be for you.

More photos from Rehoboth.

AT&T Park

Worth visiting!

Home of the San Francisco Giants

This park reflects the wiredness of the town—wifi in the stands, and synching kiosks with lineups for those scoring the game on their Palms. It’s also the home of the right field “splash zone”, where Barry Bonds launches dingers into the bay.

Beautiful, not too commercial.

A wide beach backed by dunes and houses. An excellent getaway.

Virgin Islands National Park

Worth visiting!

Fantastic nature experience

The national park comprises most of the land on St. John. Its largely unspoiled hills are wound with hiking trails which often lead to spectacular beaches. Park beaches include the popular Trunk Bay as well as lesser known spots.
