Sahalie Falls, Oregon

Sahalie Falls, Oregon

There is a beautiful series of falls and a river that is unbelievably blue! The trees are huge, everything is covered in layers of ferns, moss, herbs, mushrooms, hanging moss, and lava flows frozen in time as living rock covered in old growth trees shaggy hanging moss in the temperate rain forest that runs parallel to the Pacific coast.

Haunes Falles, near Hunter, NY

As the river that runs through a beautiful canyon from the North Lake and the South Lake through the town of Haines Falls, it cascades at Haines Falls themselves. They are a series of falls of varying heights and dynamics. There is no official place to park, only a few spaces on the side of the winding cliff road 23A. Be warned, my friends car had a window smashed in with a brick. Nothing was stolen (though there were valuables inside. It was a clear message to we outsiders to stay out of their town. I can understand because there is graffiti on the boulders and litter.
