Fraser Island

Worth visiting!

Recently came back from 4 nights at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Highly reccommned getting a villa if you can afford it. Was lucky enough to share the cost of 2 bedroom villa with a spa on the deck with 3 friends. Cost to hire a 4WD was too much for us,so we went on a 1/2 day coach tour of Central and through some of the rainforest and a stop at Lake Mackenzie. Even though it was winter the weather was fab and warm enough to swim ( a bit ! ). Morning canoe ride and various walks are good to do and the bush tucker talk and taste was well worth the $10. Relaxing massages and other beauty stuff is available, and the sunset on the jetty is not to be missed ! Oh, and the cocktail of the day was fun too ! :)

Bangkok

Worth visiting!

Finding Mr O the travel agent was our first good find of Bangkok. Staying in a Thai run hotel was a good move too. Shopping was pretty good, the Gold Class Cinema was the best I’ve ever been to, and the food was great as well, the massages were the best…

Now for the bad stuff…
The Tuk Tuk drivers who think that scamming you is fun and should be attempted every single time they see a white chick/s.
Being scammed that the Grand Palace was closed for the day
Taxi drivers who pretend they don’t know where the train station is when you only have one train you are trying to get on
The pollution

Some good, some not so good. Honestly don’t think I’ll need to go again.

Chiang Mai

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

Spent my first Christmas overseas and it happened to be in Chaing Mai. :)

Ate a gorgeous Pad Thai for Christmas lunch and went for a 5hour walk around the walled city and other parts of Chaing Mai.

The night markets were great and stayed in the best backpackers ever here.

Even the tuk tuk drivers weren’t insane ! ;)

Went on an elephant ride through the jungle, went and saw a few of the hill tribes and made the trip over to the Burma border, Golden Triangle and went over to Laos for a couple of hours.

Hua Hin

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I loved my 3 night stay in Hua Hin. The train trip down from Bangkok was amusing as we were the only white chicks in 3rd class and the source of much rubber necking ! Lol ! :)

It was just so relaxed and just hanging out and wandering around the markets was heaps of fun.

I sat on the balcony one afternoon daydreaming of what it would be like to live there and almost could see myself riding a scooter to work teaching English and living in a little apartment.

Would def visit again

Teluk Intan

How this place changed my life

The kids who live in this school are so inspiring and the people who work and voluenteer here do so as well.

Anything is possible.

Kuala Lumpur

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I stayed in Chinatown and then started the travels up the west coast.

Then stayed in KL on my own for 3 days, staying in Chinatown again and had a ball ! Sadly, I think the highlight was finding a Sasa store and buying those awesome face masks.

Would def. go again !
