Earl Abel's

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

Earl Abel’s is probably the oldest restaurant in all of San Antonio-they’ve been selling fried chicken for 72 years. Their new building, on Old Austin Highway, will never compare to the original location on Broadway (which has now been torn down), but they still serve the same good down home southern food, and still have some of the same fixtures. Order the fried chicken (I promise, it’s worth it).

Knott's Berry Farm

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Make sure to go to Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. The portions are huge and delicious.

San Antonio Zoo

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I went in fall of ‘06, and it was ungodly humid that day. Don’t go when it’s humid, especially if you have kids. You’ll just get sweaty and cranky, and the animals spend the whole day sleeping. Visit the butterfly exhibit (it’s near the monkeys) and make sure you ride the train from Brackenridge park.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Not worth visiting!

A rumor about this place

Rumor has it that this place will stop being a Six Flags soon and be Fiesta Texas again soon. If that happens, it’s worth visiting. Til then, it’s not really worth the effort. It still has a unique atmosphere and attitude, but they ruin it by having Looney Toons characters in the most obnoxious places. Oh, and by not serving the braut dinner anymore in Germantown.
