Sierra Vista

Not worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

The first time I went to Sierra Vista was the summer of 1996, when I was visiting my fiance while he was stationed at Fort Huachuca. There was pretty much ONE main drag. Well, pretty much the same main drag, but it’s grown up a lot in the past ten years.

There’s more to do here, but you really have to go to Tucson to get any real variety. There’s a ton of restaurants: big names like Chili’s, Outback, Applebees, & Pizza Hut Bistro, and more local fare like My Place, La Casita, Golden China and Rudolpho’s.

There’s a small mall. Seriously, we make jokes that you can stand on one end, send your friend to the other and still be able to see each other. We have a Wal-mart, Target, K-mart, Osco, Safeway, and a few more.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen

(in Germany > Bayern)

Worth visiting!

AFRCEurope Rocks!

One of the biggest highlights of being a U.S. military family in Europe was our interior resorts throughout the continent. After my hubby got back from Iraq the summer of 2004, we took a trip down to Garmisch!

Bavaria is one of the prettiest parts of Germany, in my opinion, and Garmisch was just so wonderfully warm! Plus it was a great jump point for tours to Munich/Munchin and the castle - oh, I so can’t spell it! Neuschwistein? - they modeled Cinderella’s castle after!

I definitely recommend this destinataion!

An Amazing Spot! (South Rim Sightseeing)

We just spent Labor Day with my parents and my mom’s parents at the Grand Canyon! We camped at the Mather Campground for two nights, and took the blue and red shuttle lines to get to Hermit’s Rest and back. Took a bunch of amazing pictures. Scared the crap out of myself (forgot how bad my fear of heights was!). But I’d do it all over again. And again. And again!

Small Town Charm

If you’re looking for big city excitement, you need to go somewhere else, because Fort Huachuca doesn’t have it, and neither does the town outside the gates, Sierra Vista. However, if you like the idea of easy access to some great restaurants and a ten minute drive to some great Arizona towns (like Tombstone), then you’d enjoy our area!

Highlands Ranch

Worth visiting!

Cos I love my sister in-law!

We hadn’t ever been to my sister in-laws house in the almost decade I’ve been married, so when they planned a mini-reunion a couple of weeks back, we decided to go. :-) And it was a good time.

Not to mention that one of my favorite people lives in Aurora, CO!

Oh, there is tons of stuff to do there!!
