The website does give information about what is going on in the park but doesn’t quite give the whole story. I’d like to go back again when there is actually water in the savanna. But it was an interesting little ecosystem and really fascinating to see how the land has changed (on its own and due to human development). They have a really nice visitors center and the next time I’m in the area when it’s not deadly hot out, it would make a lovely hike. The birding looked wonderful as well.

It was definately the off season. My boyfriend and I kayaked all the way up to the springhead and floated back down again, seeing a grand total of 15 people along the way. I definately reccomend the springs during the summer for tubing… but the off season kayaking was spectacular.

I drove 16 hours straight from Florida. Visited the folks and came back with a few cases for the housewarming. Tiring, but an excellent souvenier (until consumed).
