Trekking in Thailand
Our family met up in Bangkok. We toured around and then flew up to Chaing Rai. Once there we hired a guide who took us up to the border with Burma and around. We visited some hill tribe villages. But the best was trekking through a bamboo jungle and spending the night in a bamboo house on stilts in a village with no electricity. The people were so friendly giving us massages at night and inviting us to join them in their “dance” for Chinese New Years. The next day we rode elephants between villages and through a river!! After this terrific adventure we took a bus to Chaing Mai. We went to the huge night market there. It was lots of fun. Then we took the train back to Bangkok. Our young adult kids loved the trip and we have lots of great memories. I researched the trip myself and got all the reservations myself. The best site was to visit virtualtourist.com
