If I had to live in LA this is where I would want to live.
There are trees, birds and winding roads. I house-sat one summer right off of Mulholland one house below Gillian Anderson’s.
The house was pretty simple but the view from the pool was beyond beautiful. I guess if you can get use to driving “everywhere” LA isn’t all that bad. Man I miss that pool…

This is my neighborhood bakery. I stop here at least once a week and indulge. Weekends are notorious for a line out the door to get one of their delicious Fried chicken sandwiches. Such a sweet lil bakery the yellow roses and blue hair always make me happy.They also take Meyer Lemons as a barter for their delectable nibblets. Great coffee, friendly service and oh so delicious.

I can’t say enough good stuff about this place. Sure it’s old but that’s what makes it so beautiful. Every time I go I am so mesmerized by the huge ornate theatre curtain and murals painted on the ceiling. I just love old art deco theaters and Oakland has quite a few. Dolby digital sound, comfy red seats and beautiful art. Come a bit early on weekend showings for the organ player in theater one.

It’s all up hill but if you can make it there just before sunset you won’t be disappointed! Sit on the steps and soak up the view with a loved one. Absolutely lovely.

Musee D’Orsay is easily digestible in one afternoon. It’s less crowded well lit and airy. The cafe is worth checking for the murals alone. They also serve tea, coffee, wine and the the best profiteroles you’ll ever have.
