i went to ketchikan for a couple weeks because the marines sent me. the story goes that during WWII, the US wanted to build an airstrip on native american land in ketchikan. the tribe there agreed, but they wanted the feds to build them a road from the village to the port. so about 50 years later, there we were finally building this road for them. better late than never i suppose.
over 7 years agoi went to a friend’s wedding banquet here a few years back… and it is absolutely gorgeous! check out this atrium center that they have http://www.yanksing.com/c-venue.htm
anyway, the food is great, and i know it’s expensive. but it’s absolutely the best sea bass i’ve ever had! i want to hold my dad’s 60th birthday here if my brothers agree. and if you’re gonna have a chinese wedding banquet, this is it. and you better have lion dance!
over 7 years agothis is where you go have dinner before you see your indie rock show at the fillmore _ though parking is hard to find i guess. i just park at the safeway. in addition to sushi, udon, and the usual fare, there’s a couple korean bbq places.
