Omonia Restaurant

Worth visiting!

Untitled

Nice furniture, comfortable plether chairs, and neutral colours. Salad has nice and gentle broken pieces of feta. The grilled chicken breasts had a very nice grilled flavour. The rice is mixed with peas and celery. Potatoes have nice outside flavour, taste doesn’t pentrate all the way to the middle. The stuffed chicken with mushroom sauce was too sweet for me.

Would have been better if the blinds were down over the windows.

I tried the “original” Sahertorte and have to say it is NOT the best here. It was dry and the outside layer of chocolate was too sweet. There was not enough apricot jam. On the other hand, the BEST one was at the old Cafe Nashemarkt. It was perfect there.

I wish there was less concrete here. The people keep to themselves. Sundays a lot of shops are closed I heard.

Disappointed there was very few Klimt paintings here. Almost none.

Every now and then you here the rumble of the subway trains.

There are few good restaurants around here.

There were 2 bars with men only that I stepped back on.

The one chinese buffet is good tastewise. Visually not that appealing. The one cafe at the corner was very busy on a Sunday. It was too full.

Simple place with a strong focus. Every look at the gold foil is different as the light reflects off it. Every distance emphasizes something new on Klimts mural.

I love the open air market and the large outdoor space it covers. Two long aisles with restaurants and market stalls on both sides. See the dogs that the masters bring to the market. All food tastes satisfied.

The Musikverein

Worth visiting!

I saw Anne-Sophie Mutter play here. I sat next to the orchestra. The house was pretty much full with lots of people standing in the back. The sound transmission was perfectly clear. The Oslo orchestra played that night too. See who else attends. There was definitely an Italian wife with sunglasses next to her tanned and balding husband. There was a woman who had a smile through the whole concert. The windows on the long end of the room face west. The light fades through the night.

It is customary to drink champagne during intermission.

Interesting thing to have in the city…but after going through once I am trying to stay away from it as it occupies such a big area.
