loved this place, really a laid back relaxed feel. farmers market is great, and you can go barefoot everywhere after you get done surfing :)

maybe just personal, but i just didn’t like the place. it could be the fact that i was stuck there after driving all the way up through b.c. to get on the ferry to go up to ak, but its sooo little and there seemed to be nothing there worth traveling up to see.

I lived rurually but very close to this town for over 10 years, and if you want to go to alaska, SE AK is one of the most beautiful places ever. But you have to love thick dense forests along with a ton of rain. Summer is the best time to come, less rain and lots warmer. Fishing, hiking, boating, shopping, great tours, tons of fun! Avoid downtown some though, lots of cruise ship tourists that can ruin the real alaska experience. Better to go with the mom and pop tours and get out of town.

Hard place to live, but a very nice place to visit in the summer if you enjoy the sun, sand, and warm water, along with some beautiful scenery.
