Worth visiting!

Biryani paradise

Visited it late February 2005 and had a blast courtesy Satya and Kadir. In a span of two days, saw Char Minar, Golconda, Safdar Jang, Falak Numa, Durgam Cheruvu, Osman Sugar, Hussain Sagar and a movie at the Imax theatre, not to forget the awesome biryani at the Paradise Hotel, Secunderabad.

Mandu

Worth visiting!

Monsoon retreat of Emperor Jahangir.

We visited it on a bike trip from Indore, about 100km. It is a beautiful place during the monsoons, green and rainy. Numerous gates, palaces and the hills make it one splendid place to spend a honeymoon.

Goa

Worth visiting!

India's famous beaches are here.

I went here alone on a trip in the summer of 2004 and absolutely loved its Colva beach (I stayed close to it), its Aguada fort, Calangute, Old Goa and its churches, the Mormuagao port, the Mandovi and Zuari rivers, the party mood everywhere!

Chennai

I did my engineering here.

I was born in one of its suburbs Tambaram. I adore the capital of Tamil Nadu for its Besant Nagar beach, Ranganathan Street, Mount Road, Egmore railway station, Chepauk stadium, ...

Thoothukudi

Worth visiting!

Pearl City

Thoothukudi is my hometown, affectionately called the Pearl City. The Anglicised version is Tuticorin. Here is the entry on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoothukudi and here is a site run by some of my friends http://www.muthunagar.com/index1.htm. These two tell you the story. How can I forget the charming beach, the tasty muttai parottas and saalna, the captivating Hare Island? It is one of the major ports of India and is now home to the Sethusamudram Canal project. Its population is a mix of people from all over the country. I could write a lot on it.
