My friends started snatching up donuts. It was quite amusing.

GO TO THE STATE CAPITOL. It’s so pretty, you don’t want to miss it. Quite European.

It’s nice. I like the country better. Oregon’s beautiful.

Impressive town, especially the cathedral, the river, and the old city wall. The police amused us, barging through the town as if something troublesome were happening, only to meet in the square and eat ice cream. It was also the first place I ever encountered anyone making you pay to use a public restroom. I love lay-overs, well, missed flights, and the spontaneous travel opportunities they provide. : D

I can’t emphasize strongly enough just how grateful I feel about having a lay-over in Amsterdam two years ago. Seven hours gave us time to visit the Anne Frank House and to see the surrounding area of Amsterdam. I was especially impressed with the work they’re doing relevant to current issues.

Good place to grow up.
