I mean, it is what it is, but people (I’m mainly talking of tourists) think Hollywood in general is this amazing place where they’ll bump into celebs. If celeb sightings are your thing, they’re out during the week in places like West Hollywood and Santa Monica. You’ll occasionally bump into some in nicer parts of the valley (this is what I hear). But Hollywood in general isn’t what people are expecting (it’s kind of dirty and stinky). I used to stand on a bus stop on Hollywood & Highland and it would be funny to see tourists pass the Mc Donald’s and exclaim “there’s Marilyn’s star!” and then crouch down on the nasty side walk to get a picture of themselves next to the star…. ah, life in Los Angeles…

I’ve been going to Amoeba for years now. They’ve got it all and I love them for it. I mostly buy used CDs from them. The quality is always great as are the prices. There isn’t a lot of staff on the floor, but when I squeeze my way over to the info desk, they are always helpful

He lived there for a few years, and when he leaves California in a couple of years, he’d love to move back there. He wants me to check it out. Ok, fine, sure. Just for you, D.

the burritos there are fabulous…I kind of want to go back, just for the burritos! That’s all I know of the place…trains and burritos. Mmm, burritos…

but I only went for a couple of hours. I stayed on Broadway mostly. I didnt do too much. it was spur of the moment and very very short, so I need to go back and REALLY see NY

and then i was whisked away to the ‘burbs. So i must return to the actual city and check things out.

theres a pier with things to do, a beach, a mall, lots of shops, and several expensive eateries and stores if you are into that sort of thing. Very eclectic beach city.

This isnt a city you visit if its your first time in CA. its just a nice little city you go to when you live near it. the city I live in doesnt have a lot of major shops…so if you want to go to barnes & noble, best buy, or target, west covina is the city you go to, if you live in my neck of the woods
