Crater Of Diamonds State Park

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Crater of Diamonds...

Why you should go?? #1) it’s a state park. #2) it’s the only working diamond mine where the public can dig & keep what they find. #3) it’s just a whole lotta fun. They’ve recently added a mini-water fun area for kids & an RV Park. Also, if you go, be prepared—in the summer it WILL BE HOTT!!! There’s VERY little shade. Wear plenty of sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat & rubber boots. It’s best to go after a rain or when the earth has been turned by plow. It’s best to bring a small folding camp style shovel, bucket w/a lid you can sit on or cushion & dirt screens. If you don’t have screens you can rent them, just be sure to leave before closing when they tell you to leave otherwise you won’t get your deposit back. Above all else, have fun!!

Carhenge

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

Actually, I saw it on a tv program, can’t remember the program name but back in high school—late ‘80s or early ‘90s we went on a ‘family’ vacation. Can’t remember where exactly we were heading but we just happened to be on this highway passing by & I looked over & yelled, “STOP THE CAR!” the parents said, of course, “what fer?, What’s yer problem!?” I said “LOOOOK” & pointed over at Car Henge. I said it was that Stone Henge made of cars so they pulled over & we took pix although I had a pretty crappy camera so my pix weren’t that great as you can barely make it out in the photo although the photo itself isn’t blurry, I just had a crappy camera that didn’t take long distance photos from the road. I can’t believe I actually saw this & it was a fluke that we happened to pass by, we had NO idea where it was located, it was just a fluke but I will never forget it!
