The Corryvreckan Whirlpool

The Corryvreckan is located between Scarba and Jura, two small islands off the coast of western Scotland. Swirling through what locals call the ‘Cailleach’, it is the sixth largest whirlpool in the world with waves of around 15 feet and the roar of the resulting maelstrom can be heard ten miles away.
