I lived in Kathmandu about 10 years ago. On the first day I arrived, I decided to go for a bike ride. I rode all around the ring road. Not very scenic and very polluted. Very interesting, but pretty chaotic place. I enjoyed my trips out of Kathmandu, but some of the travel was a bit jarring.

My relatives lived just over the river in Vermont, so I visited Hanover many times. Nice pleasant place, but you had to go to White River for the Supermarkets.

Loch Ness is a good place to go for sunbathing (NOT!!). You can get your own water without having to buy it on Ebay, see Nessie and get wet and cold most of the year. Better to carry on to somewhere else.You can say you have been there to enlighten a dinner party and just lie about the weather.

I was christened in Churchill near Letterkenny and have been back to visit a number of times. I love the remoteness, the wet weather, the smell of peat, Errigal and the wild seas in winter.
