    Granite Falls

rather poor first impression  — 3 months ago

A long time ago an older sister and I went to look for a relative’s place near Granite Falls, WA. Some years before that, the town had a reputation for lots of fist fights and rough stuff that included their entire police force – I think they all got canned.

Anyway, it was Sat night after 11pm, we were lost. We stopped to use a pay phone to call for more directions. Not only did the phone not work, it ate our coins, and when I hit “coin return” and reached in to get the money back, I found that someone had smashed a banana into the coin return holder. Disgusting feeling if you’re not expecting it!

    Zurich

    Worth visiting!

    Such a relief!  — 3 months ago

There are many, many wonderful things about Zurich. Really. Many. For me, the best thing was being able to get off the darn bus and find a decent restroom!! I’d eaten something bad, the bus had no “facilities” and the head of the group refused to stop for my “need.” Thank you Zurich for the wonderful restrooms!!!!! I’ll never forget you!

    The Temple Mount

    Worth visiting!

Repect, again  — 3 months ago

A with my visit to the Garden Tomb, the Temple Mount is sacred to more than one religious group, and for the most part, people behaved respectfully. There is so much history in this part of the world. So many civilizations, cultures, traders, armies, travelers, etc. That build up of human experience alone is enough to boggle the mind. I was in awe. Architecture here is amazing.
