Osaka is a fun city to visit if you love to eat. Well known for their takyoyaki and okonomiyaki among other regional specialties, you’ll never go hungry in Osaka. A few days should be enough and could even be done as a day trip from Kyoto.

I visited the Ramen Museum on a recent trip to Yokohama and I would say it’s worth the effort if you’re crazy about ramen. The bulk of the museum is an interior courtyard of sorts that is about 3 stories high and modeled after an old Japanese street scene chock full of ramen restaurants. You can do the whole place including lunch in about 1 hour. Be aware that the whole museum is in Japanese with the help from an English guide. You should be able to find English menus on top of the machines where you order. This will help map the English name of dishes to the buttons on the machine to help with ordering.

I visited Yokohama on a recent trip to Tokyo. This being the 2nd largest city in Japan it’s said to be a mini Tokyo so I’m not sure if I would put this on a must visit list since it’s so close to Tokyo itself. None the less it’s worth a day trip (or half day) if you’re going for a few specific things like the Ramen Museum. It’s only about 20-30 min from Tokyo by train.

This is apparently the sister city of my current home town (San Jose, CA) so I thought that it might be interesting to try to visit the next time I’m in Japan.

i spent a few days in delft in sept of 2001 and found it to be a cute ciy that reminded me of a mini amsterdam. there’s not a ton to do but it’s still fun to walk around, people watch and eat some great dutch food. if you happen to be there on a weekend make sure to check out the street market.

Most people visit Itaewon for shopping which you’ll find lots of but also make sure to wander off into the streets and hills that surround the main street. You’ll find lots to explore, take photos of and eat.

I think night time is the best time to visit the peak and to see the lights of HK and Kowloon.
