We saw Medeski Martin and Wood at the Neighborhood Theater the other night. Great venue. A gutted theater with balcony and dance floor. Seating is good. Can hold about 900 people. Great venue.

The Grumpies are a great bunch of people who are working hard to bring excellent espresso to their area. If you are in the Brooklyn area step out near Greenpoint Ave and check them out.

We hit up NYC during thanksgiving and have a few recommendations for the coffee geek. Hit up 9th Street Espresso in the Village & Cafe Grumpy in Brooklyn. Both of these shops take espresso to 11.

I’ve been to this good eats place nearly since it’s inception. This is what I always referred to as a hippy shack. Simple decor with a large wall of passed employees photographs. The food is all comfort foods from chili macs, two fisted hamburgers, or a great quiche and fruit plate.

Cheap, quick, and social. Not open on Sundays. Have your party ready or you’re gonna be asked to step aside. This place is an engine.

I have a friend in Richmond we visit and I am always taken aback at how neat the city is. The districts, the homes, the historic nature. I could see myself living there easily.

Grandparents lived in Griffin, most of the family went to UGA. I was a GSU person, Athens didn’t want me. Lots of fun in Hot-Lanta to Savannah. There are some crazy towns in between, but Georgia has flair like Lousianna. Great place to take some time in whether it’s the cities, the forrests, or the coast.

It was crisp February 2005 I had my first trip to Portland. Beautiful town, fantastic civic transit system, and eatieres that delighted my palate! I was there for a barista training and had no real time to explore outside the city but I want to return!

I haven’t visited in years but I was there as a child many many a-time. A large branch of my extended family hails from Knoxville and it was a winterland stop for us. If I could just keep on going next time we’re in Ashville I’d be there! heheh!

Ashville used to be very laid back, and really, to most who look at it can still make that draw, but it’s population is skyrocketing and keeping an easy way of life gets harder the more you grow. Neat cultural artistic center nestled in the mountains. Good eats, good crafts, new designers, antiquing. I love Ashville and it’s surrounding areas, great place to spend time.
