Hershey

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I grew up in nearby Harrisburg for most of my life, so we often would visit the city of Hershey. My favorite part was the street lamps with their Hershey Kiss (wrapped & unwrapped) tops that covered the lights. We always went to Hershey Park for Boo in the Zoo during Halloween.

Boston

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I live here. Everyday I find myself amazed what Boston has to offer (and annoyed and what it doesn’t). This is such a passionate city with loads of history. The seasons here are to the extreme and definitely worth it. Spring is the best time for tourists, the Boston Common & Gardens are lush and full of flowers and ducks and weddings and dogs and picnic-ers. The summer is humid and miserable, but rewarding to sit outside with your Italian Ice and watch the sun glint off the State House. Fall is my personal favorite season with all the leaves falling around me and the giant piles to fall into, and the winter is…cold…but the snow is beautiful and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There are just so many things to see here in Boston. This is a very visual place. My eyes always feel busy, but so do my ears, fingers and toes. A great place to walk around.

London

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I got to spend two weeks in London in an apartment that belonged to my good friend’s father’s friend. It was a giant place that was in walking distance of everything. I wish I could remember more of the specifics, but I know that I would love to return there someday. We saw two musicals - Les Misérables & The Lion King - but the best things we did were just walking around London and soaking in the atmosphere. We did too many tourist-y things in my opinion, but I’m glad that we saw them. It just seemed so full. I think my favorite was seeing the zoo in London and all the parks and open spaces. Europe is such a different place than the United States, almost overwhelming.

Tennessee

Worth visiting!

My grandma lives in Johnson City, and even thought I haven’t been there in about 12 years, I still have fantastic memories. There is nothing like southern-style cooking and crafts. I think my favorite place in the state has to be Pigeon Forge, which has a huge strip of arcades and head shops.

Texas

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I lived here for the past 10 years, and I absolutely hated every minute of it. (I was a teenager, that might have had something to do with it and I came from PA.) Although, I still have good memories of Mexican restaurants and Deep Ellum concert venues. There are things here worth seeing, but Dallas isn’t one of them. Texas is a giant place and there is something for everyone. But beware, there is definitely an air of unacceptance - my blue hair caused quite a stir in my town - being as “normal” as possible is the best way to stay under the radar in Texas. Although, Austin is quite different, and with each different place, you’ll find different people. My experiences in Dallas were memorable, but not in a good way.

Pennsylvania

Worth visiting!

This is my childhood state—I lived very close to Harrisburg. I used to visit Hershey and have fond memories of going on a ride that shows you how Hershey Chocolate is made and manufactured. I haven’t been back in about 10 years, so my memory is a bit foggy. I loved the trees, winter and the friendly people. There are great markets around here, where you can get some fantastic food made by the Amish and wonderful pumpkin patches. This place is so Autumn-y.

Germany

(in Europe)

Worth visiting!

I have only been to the Black Forest part of Germany. It’s scenic and beautiful. My family had an apartment in Malsch. We often took trips to Heidelberg, which is full of shopping.
