Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

If you happen to live in Texas and need an awesome day trip, I’d suggest going to Fossil Rim Wildlife center and the nearby Dinosaur Valley. I have so many fond memories of both of these places and each time I go back my love grows for them.

At Dinosaur Valley, you’ll stumble upon dinosaur fossils and go wading in the water. Fantastic for a scorching hot summer afternoon. Bring a picnic lunch! Then go for a leisurely drive through an assortment of wild animals at Fossil Rim. Watch out for the emu and ostriches! My favorite are the giraffe that like to stick their heads through the sunroof and slobber all over your car’s upholstery. You really can’t get this close to the animals at a normal zoo and you can learn about that in an audio tour you rent at the entrance. Not to mention, you can feed the animals from your car! It’s just so awesome to see all of these creatures up close and personal. It continues to excite me every single time I visit.

Dollywood

Worth visiting!

I’ve only been to Dollywood once as a child and I’d love to return one day. I remember having the easiest time getting on the rides! I’m sorry I can’t remember more of the details.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

If you’re thinking of going to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, remember to bring cash! It seems that nearly all of the vendors inside only take cash, not to mention, if you’re this close to the North End, you’ll want to visit Mike’s Pastry and you’ll need cash for that place, too.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

In July 2006 a lot of exhibits were missing due to renovation and/or cleaning. It’s sad to not enter one of the rooms because it’s closed off. It’s a beautiful house and I could sit by the garden all day long. I wish there were tea parties held in the house. My favorites parts are the collection of handwritten letters and the paintings to the left in the small room right after you pay at the register! A lovely place that I’ve been to multiple times and hope to visit again & again in the future.

New England Aquarium

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

During the summer time there are discounts involving your Bank of America card. Watch out for this super way to seeing a lot of the cities museums for way less!

Chicago

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I have wanted to go to Chicago for about 10 years and I finally got my chance a few weeks ago. I only had four days to explore, so I did as much as I could in reach. I didn’t venture out on the El, but I did take the bus to the Shedd Aquarium—definitely worth it! I only stayed downtown and the whole place seems to close around 8pm, so go out early! Everyone that I encountered was friendly and helpful, some of the nicest people I have ever met and I’ve lived (& visited) in a lot of different places. There’s lots of places to shop and to keep you entertained. I can’t wait to go again and to eat at a 24 hour diner. There’s so many things left to explore.

New York City

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I got to visit NYC twice over Summer 2005. I was confused by everything. It’s so big, noisy and there are people everywhere. I’m not stranger to city life as I live in Boston, but this is the complete opposite. Boston seems charming, and New York is like the obnoxious older sibling. This is a place you have to visit more than once. I loved it the second time around, where I got visit a Japanese bakery and look at the gift shop at the MoMA - we were too late to go look around. I think there’s so much there - something for everyone! I know that I’m not done with New York City, but I don’t know when I’ll have time to go back. I feel like I could live there and it will still be a stranger.

Fenway Park

Worth visiting!

Untitled

First and foremost, I am not a baseball fan, but my boyfriend has been a Red Sox fan his entire life. I have to say that to see a game at Fenway is amazing. The crowd and energy there really makes it worth it for anyone, and I’m sure it makes a big difference if you are a fan of the game. There is so much spirit in this place, but I think the Red Sox deserve a bigger stadium. I’ve already been there four times, and I’d love to go back. Although, there are bigger fans out there that deserve the seat!

Maine

Worth visiting!

Untitled

My boyfriend is from Maine, so I’ve been to his hometown of Millinocket and to visit his friends in Bangor. It was cold and full of trees. I’ve only spent a few days there at the most, but I would love to go back and explore the wilderness and the seaside.
