over 7 years agoi went almost 100 miles out of my way to visit this little “alaskan” town on my way through BC to the lower 48. its a joke. its really stewart then you go through an actual border with gaurds and everything and then theres one tiny street and you cant even use US currency you have to use canadian money!! i was mad…………… but hey the people are still great so if you wanna visit just be forwarned….your really still in canada… oh and there is this GREAT little homemade candy/gift shop there. you cant miss it. think its one of the only buildings in hyder…your really still in canada

over 7 years agoif you can get past the smell of sulfur (natural hotsprings) its the best -summer and winter! indoor warm pool, and hot tubs (indoor and out) cabins, lodge and camping area. lots to do! trails for sking or walking too
over 7 years agovery spendy but the best in all of anchorage! great desserts, as well as everything else on the menu
over 7 years agoyes its cold in the winter, yes it stays light all summer – no anchorage residents do not have pet polar bears and take dogsleds everywhere. the people here are the nicest in the world, and i mean that literally.
over 7 years agoa big group of friends and i went here as our first stop for one of our friends 21st birthday, we had a blast! great people, great setting, indoor and outdoor seating which in july was nice to enjoy fresh air and sunshine till 2am or so(kind of funny they had a space heater on the patio in july-downtown gets breezy that close to cook inlet) the drinks are great so’s the food and it just feels like you are with friends and family in there. the booths and tables inside are great, lots of neat decoration…..
over 7 years agoi love this cafe! my mom works real close by and we used to get breakfast there before school sometimes. they have absolute killer eggs benedict! the atmosphere is wonderful, not a problem to sit and snack and do homework. they have a breakfast cereal bar too. if you are in town stop by you wont be sorry you did! close by to all the touristy stuff downtown, the mall, and the iditarod start………even if you live here—very nice!
