For me Cologne is an underrated part of Germany’s dance scene. There’s just so much going on! Techno, eletro, dance, house. All of that and more. I had an amazing trip there a few summers ago and am thinking of going back this year. I remember staying in this really pretentious sandstone Cologne hotel which was nice, but too much!
over 2 years agofor me Sicily is worth visiting if you’re over 65. I found it aesthetically pleasing, but otherwise dull. Lots of character and good food etc, but a slower pace of life that I’m not suited to. Otherwise, I stayed in a hotel in Messina district which was a decent enough area to stay in..
over 2 years agoi went to Budapest last Summer and had the time of my life. However I’d strongly advise staying in Buda as opposed to Pest, as the area is more interesting (imo) and the hotels in Buda are nicer too. It’s a real mixture of history and culture overall though – the notion of history is most evident with the bullet holes in some of the old buildings, terrifying but fascinating.
