Cruise Ship Weather Troubles

We were circumnavigating Cuba on a cruise from Miami to Jamaica. The weather turned nasty the boat was not a megaliner, but more mid-sized (Norwegian Majesty). The upper decks were closed off due to gales. Waves were splashing over the bow. The whole ship was rocking up and down, I’d guess from 15-20 deg. above to 15-20 deg. below the horizon as we went over swells. Rounding Cuba on the east, we hugged the coastline to avoid the E.N.E. swells overnight and during the morning, sometimes w/i I’d guess 1/4 mile. You could see smoke rising in the Mountain valleys from the brightly colored huts/homes.


I don’t know if being in their territorial waters counts as being there, but we saw enough. It was beautiful and we’d like to visit someday. over 4 years ago

Skip the Casinos

You’ll have better luck at your local Indian casino back home.

But, you can’t get world class shopping like you can at Caesar’s or the great show out front of Bellagio at home.
