Picked up my first Krishnamurti book in Kopan Monastery. It hit me like a sledgehammer. Ended any spiritual journey I thought I was on and began something totally new.

What can I say…? Weather, beaches, food, Thai people… just the feeling about this country is warm.

I got my first introduction to Buddhism here. 10 day silent retreat on Ko Phangan in the south. Everyone should do this once in there life. It changed me.

If you go to the Angkor Temples, as most people do, then spare a thought for the people who stand checking tickets at the temples. They do this everyday with about 1 day off a month… standing in the heat or rain. Don’t be scared to say hello and stop and talk to them. I know one such man, and after meeting him I discovered he is one of the most warm and sincere human beings I have ever met.

It is such a beautiful land. I first went there in 1996 and have been back 4 times since.

Go in the rainy season to avoid the crowds. Also the moisture creates better colors for photography.
